Information Session on NASA’s LISA Preparatory Science Program

LISA Preparatory Science (LPS) is an element within the Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) program which supports U.S.-based investigators to conduct activities that contribute to furthering the eventual science yield of LISA. The program has been recently amended to clarify both the scientific objectives of the program as well as the eligibility criteria.

In a one-hour webinar on Friday, 27 September 2024 at 12 noon Eastern (9a Pacific), NASA staff will provide a brief update on the LISA project, an overview of the LPS program, and details on the science gaps process. Remaining time will be available for Q&A. An important component of this ROSES amendment is the establishment of a “LISA science gaps” list which will track areas of scientific need relevant to LISA. The science gaps will be sourced from the community and the list will be curated by the Physics of the Cosmos Program Office. Community inputs towards the formation of the LISA preparatory science gaps list are being solicited via this form; additional background information on Physics of the Cosmos related science gaps is available on the PhysCOS Science Gaps page. Connection details are below.
