Tropical Cyclone Zoe ripped through the islands of Tikopia, Fataka and Anuta on Sunday, December 29 with winds exceeding 300 kilometers an hour (186 mph) and massive waves. Initial damage reports indicate almost total devastation on the islands. This SeaWiFS image was taken at noon on December 28, just as the eye of Cyclone Zoe was approaching the isolated islands.
