The MODIS instrument onboard NASA's Terra satellite captured this true-color image of Typhoon Namtheun located approximately 280 nm south of Tokyo, Japan. Namtheun is expected to make landfall along the southwestern coast of Japan early on July 31. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Namtheun, the 10th tropical storm this season in the western Pacific, was moving at 7 kilometers an hour toward the west and would probably head for the Korean peninsula after it passes over Japan.
