
Hubble Control Center – Prepares for Launch
Members of the engineering team at Goddard Space Flight Center keep a careful eye on events during the launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 11, 2009. The operations and health of the telescope are monitored from Goddard's Space Telescope Operations Control Center. Atlantis carried a crew of seven, two new instruments and several critical repair components for Servicing Mission 4, the last mission to upgrade and repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
