MESSENGER's High-Resolution View of Mercury From Flyby 1

This high-resolution mosaic of images shows Mercury as it appeared to NASA's MESSENGER as it sped away from the planet following its first flyby on Jan. 14, 2008. This mosaic also shows a portion of the planet never previously seen by spacecraft. MESSENGER was the first spacecraft to orbit Mercury. MESSENGER was commanded to plunge into Mercury at the end of its mission on April 30, 2015.
