Caldwell 25: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Caldwell 25 (C25) is a globular cluster dubbed "the Intergalactic Wanderer.” Unlike most globular clusters, Caldwell 25 may not be from our galaxy. The cluster is about 300,000 light-years from Earth — even farther than the Milky Way’s largest satellite galaxies, the Small and Large Magellanic clouds, which are about 160,000 light-years away. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
