A large, white, rectangular scientific instrument labeled "Cold Atom Lab" and "Science Instrument" sits on a dark, gridded laboratory table. The instrument has various connectors, knobs, and handles on its front surface. To the right and slightly behind it, a smaller, metallic-colored piece of equipment also rests on the table. The setting appears to be a cleanroom or laboratory with plain white walls.

Cold Atom Lab Closeout

The Cold Atom Laboratory consists of two standardized containers that will be installed on the International Space Station. The larger container is called a “quad locker,” and the smaller container is called a “single locker.” The quad locker contains the Cold Atom Lab's physics package, or the compartment where the Cold Atom Lab will produce clouds of ultra-cold atoms.
