Nancy grace Roman 1964-oaoconstruction
Nancy Grace Roman stands with a group of scientists and engineers in 1964 in front of Orbiting Astronomical Observatory 1, NASA’s first attempt at an orbiting telescope. OAO 1 would unfortunately be terminated only 3 days after its launch in 1966 due to complications, but famously set the precedent for Hubble.
