Amendment 30: Ocean Salinity Field Campaign Final Text and Due Dates Released.

This Ocean Salinity Field Campaign program is intended to clarify the role of salinity in ocean-ice interactions by characterizing salinity signatures and possible salinity-ice feedback mechanisms in rapidly-changing polar environments. Outcomes of this field campaign are also expected to inform the development of new concepts of future remote sensing capabilities that improve salinity retrievals in cold waters. The specific science objectives include:

  • Linking Salinity Signatures to Ice Dynamics
  • Learning About Freshwater Balances from Salinity Information
  • Enhancing Salinity Remote Sensing

ROSES-2020 Amendment 30 releases final text for A.13 Ocean Salinity Field Campaign. Notices of intent are requested by August 27, 2020 and the due date for proposals is September 24, 2020.

On or about June 5, 2020, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2020" (NNH20ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2020 and will appear on SARA's ROSES blog at: https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/sara/grant-solicitations/roses-2020/.

Questions concerning Ocean Salinity Field Campaign may be directed to Nadya Vinogradova Shiffer, who may be reached at nadya@nasa.gov.
