Amendment 75: Release of Final text and Due Dates for E.10 Post-COVID Recovery. Follow up to NNH20ZDA010L, Expression of Interest: SMD call for Augmentations and Funded Extensions.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent, on-going economic disruptions, many members of the Science Mission Directorate (SMD) research and technology development community, especially early career researchers, are vulnerable to having their careers delayed or permanently disrupted. This program element exists to mitigate the damage of the pandemic and the response to it from falling disproportionately on a subset of the SMD science community through providing the opportunity to request augmentations and funded extensions to existing research and technology development awards. This program element is the opportunity that was previously mentioned in NNH20ZDA010L, the Expression of Interest: SMD call for Augmentations and Funded Extensions.

As articulated in SMD policy document 36 "Augmentations and Funded Extensions in Response to COVID-19" the research of graduate students and post-docs are the highest priority followed by that of non-tenured and soft-money early career researchers (within 10 years of their terminal degree). Proposals to this program element without any support for graduate students, post-docs or non-tenured or soft-money early-career researchers are not eligible. The funding timeline specified is Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 and FY2022, so do not request FY2023 funds. SMD cannot predict whether this opportunity will repeat and solicit proposals for FY2023 and beyond.

ROSES-2020 Amendment 75 Releases Final text and due dates for E.10 Post-COVID Recovery. Notices of Intent are not requested. Existing awardees may submit Post-COVID-19 Recovery proposals at any time until the final due date of March 5, 2021. Requests received by January 4, 2021 will be processed as a group. Requests submitted after January 4, 2021 but before March 5, 2021 will form a second group and will be processed together.

On or about December 1, 2020, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2020" (NNH20ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at http://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2020.
