Sol 1482: Right Navigation Camera, Cylindrical Perspective

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity took 18 images in Gale Crater using its mast-mounted Right Navigation Camera (Navcam) to create this mosaic. The seam-corrected mosaic provides a 0-degree cylindrical-perspective projection panorama of the Martian surface suitable for stereo viewing, centered at 205 degrees azimuth (measured clockwise from north). This single-eye view must be combined with the partner left image to be viewed in stereo. Curiosity took the images on October 07, 2016, Sols 1482-1483 of the Mars Science Laboratory mission at drive 1572, site number 58. The local mean solar time for the image exposures was from 2 PM to 4 PM. Each Navcam image has a 45-degree field of view. CREDIT: NASA/JPL-Caltech
