NASA Langley Research Center has formed a GLOBE educator cohort for the 2021-2022 school year. Seven teams totaling 18 teachers from various schools across the United States, serving underrepresented students in STEM, were selected. The cohort is designed to be a community of practice for implementing GLOBE and other NASA materials with students. The initial virtual training was conducted on August 3-5, 2021. Teachers became GLOBE Certified Teachers in multiple atmosphere protocols and learned about additional NASA educator resources. Teachers will be supported by their local implementation team, monthly cohort meetings, office hours and ongoing support from NASA Langley. Student projects will be presented to NASA at a virtual Showcase in May.
