Touchdown on Titan: NASA’s Dragonfly Entry, Descent, and Landing

In this animation, experience NASA’s Dragonfly mission as it enters Titan’s atmosphere, descends through the moon’s thick haze, and lands on the surface of Saturn’s largest moon. Dragonfly is a dual-quadcopter rotorcraft lander designed to explore Titan. Taking advantage of Titan’s dense atmosphere and low gravity, Dragonfly will fly between scientifically rich sites, traveling farther in a single day than any planetary rover. Set to launch in 2028 and reach Titan in 2034, Dragonfly will explore diverse geologic environments, sampling surface materials and studying Titan’s chemistry to investigate habitability and the potential for life.
