The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Aqua satellite acquired this image of the area around Mayon Volcano in the Philippines on January 22, 2018. The image combines natural-color data with thermal infrared bands (7-2-1). The volcano has been spewing ash and rumbling with many tremors and earthquakes in its first eruption since 2014.
