Messier 31: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image

Messier 31 (M31) is a spiral galaxy located some 2.5 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. M31, known as the Andromeda Galaxy, is the nearest major galaxy to our own Milky Way galaxy. The bottom image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The top image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
