Caldwell 65: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Caldwell 65 (C65) is a spiral galaxy located some 10 million light-years away in the constellation Sculptor. Also called the Sculptor Galaxy, British astronomer Caroline Herschel discovered C65 in 1783 while she was hunting for comets. The bottom image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The top image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
