Over the past two years the NASA Cosmic Pathfinders Program has been slowly, but surely, developing as a platform for early-career professional growth. A growing number of participants and community members/supporters, both domestic and abroad, have looked to the young program for professional developing resources, guidance, and leadership roles. As the program continues to evolve the resources and community spaces that are available need to evolve with it. This new space brings together students, researchers, professionals, and enthusiasts across astrophysics and related STEM fields for mentorship, collaboration, opportunity sharing, application reviews, and focused science discussions.
We are moving to a brand-new community space on discord!
What does this mean? It means the new space will have broader access to more resources and people while retaining the primary objectives of the program but with a much more streamlined flow. This includes the same access to your peers, but with added features like a co-working “study hall channel”, automated updates from all (18) of our science interest groups across COPAG/PHYSPAG/EXOPAG, and even an Astronomy Picture of the Day channel. Additionally, the new space is setup so that you won’t have to keep track of your favorite science interest group pages. They all have individual channels that are automatically updated whenever a new event is posted!
Who is invited? Everyone! The new community space invites everyone, including professionals, tenured faculty, and seasoned emeritus legends. The goal is to have an interactive community space where early-careers can directly engage with mid/later career professionals.
How can you access the new space? Follow the link here to join the new space >> https://discord.gg/DsDq5UX8TJ <<. Upon joining you’ll be taken through a 3-step onboarding process to just keep track of who is who.
We’ve done the hard part for you! Whether you’re interested in research pathways, job applications, new missions, science policy, or just building community in the field, this is for you. Let’s work to elevate careers in the field of astrophysics and beyond! 🚀
