AI/ML STIG Weekly Talks Starting 14 September 2026
26 August 2026
On behalf of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Science and Technology Interest Group (AI/ML STIG) organizers, we're excited to share that our second-year lecture series will kick off soon. Starting 14 September 2026 we'll be holding weekly talks every Monday at 4p Eastern (1p Pacific).
We're still finalizing the full schedule and speaker lineup (thanks everybody who provided suggestions and voted on talk topics). Right now, we wanted to give everyone a heads up early so you can pencil in the recurring slot. Here's a rough sense of the themes we're planning around:
- Agentic AI basics and applications
- AI for scientific instrumentation
- AI policy and collaboration opportunities
- AI for upcoming astronomical surveys
- Interactive sessions and town halls
The detailed schedule and confirmed speakers will be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here's a recurring google calendar invite for the Monday 4p Eastern slot to add to your calendar.
Looking forward to another great series! Let the STIG leadership know if you have any questions.
