Another dust storm blew off the coast of Sudan on August 26, 2006. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) flying onboard NASA’s Terra satellite took this picture the same day. In this image, two plumes of tan-colored dust blow off the coast. The plume to the north is thicker. The plume to the south is slightly thinner, with less distinct margins, especially on its southwest side. Both plumes curve in a clockwise direction to the east and then the south. The MODIS Rapid Response Team provides daily images of this region.
