Seasonal rains fell across western Australia in late January 2003 and led to mild flooding along the Fitzroy River. Some of the flooding can be seen in this false-color image acquired on March 4, 2003, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument flying aboard NASA’s Terra spacecraft. In this false-color image, water is dark blue, dark turquoise, and black. Clouds are light blue and white, and the land is green and tan.
