The European Space Agency’s (ESA) Envisat satellite acquired this radarimage of the oil slick off the coast of Spain, stretching more than 150 km,on Sunday, November 17, at 10:45 UTC. The image was captured by the Advanced Synthetic ApertureRadar (ASAR) onboard the Envisat spacecraft, launched by ESAlast March. The ASAR was operating in its wide-swath modecovering an area approximately 400 km by 400 km.
