Sol 1949: Mast-Mounted Navigation Camera, Cylindrical Perspective

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity took 18 image pairs in Gale Crater using its mast-mounted Navigation Camera (Navcam) to create this mosaic. The seam-corrected mosaic provides a 360-degree cylindrical perspective projection panorama of the Martian surface suitable for stereo viewing, centered at 1 degrees azimuth (measured clockwise from north). This anaglyph must be viewed with red/blue glasses (red over left eye).  Curiosity took the images on January 30, 2018, Sol 1949 of the Mars Science Laboratory mission at drive 0, site number 68. The local mean solar time for the image exposures was 2 PM. Each Navcam image has a 45-degree field of view. CREDIT: NASA/JPL-Caltech
