SeaWiFS views hurricane Aletta

The year’s first Northeast Pacific hurricane, Aletta, appears in this imagefrom the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS). On May 24, 2000 thehurricane was spinning 300 miles off the coast of Mexico with sustained winds of80 miles per hour and gusts up to 100 miles per hour.
