Amendment 81: New Opportunity: Astrophysics Theory Program

The Astrophysics Theory Program (ATP; D.10 of ROSES-25) supports efforts to develop the basic theory for NASA's space astrophysics programs. The proposed work submitted for this program must both:

  • Be directly relevant to NASA space astrophysics goals by facilitating the interpretation of data from space astrophysics missions or by leading to predictions that can be tested with space astrophysics observations; and
  • Consist predominantly of theoretical astrophysics studies or the development of theoretical astrophysics models.

ATP proposals satisfying both of the above requirements may involve development of data analysis methods for astrophysics missions and may incidentally include actual data analysis as a test of the theory or the method

ROSES-2025 Amendment 81 releases D.10 ATP as a new opportunity in ROSES-25. Neither NOIs nor Step-1 Proposals are requested. Proposals are due February 3, 2027.

Questions concerning D.10 ATP may be directed to Sanaz Vahidinia at HQ-ATP@mail.nasa.gov.
