The Art of Storytelling in STEM: Intersection of Science Communication, Culture, and Art | November 2nd 10:30am to 11:45am
Science communication is an important, and often overlooked and underdeveloped, skillset that members of the STEM professions need to effectively connect their results to a broad audience. Very often it is a skillset that is improved upon “as needed.” Furthermore, the presentation of identity and personal storytelling in scientific talks are some of the prominent challenges that early-careers face in today's STEM professional landscape. This professional development session is focused on the introspection of culture, science, and art as it applies to the intersectionality of science communication to a broad audience.
This session will feature a diverse group of panelists across various career stages sharing their stories and science. The session will also feature an interactive component for best practices for effective science communication to broad audiences.
