15 April 2026

ROSES-25 program element F.5 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) solicits proposals from accredited U.S. universities and other eligible organizations for graduate student-designed and performed research projects that contribute to SMD's science, technology, and exploration goals. ROSES-2025 Amendment 52 releases final text and due dates for FINESST, which was previously TBD. Please see the file named F.5 Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology final text (.pdf) on the right side of the NSPIRES FINESST webpage.

Neither a notice of intent nor a Step-1 proposal should be submitted. Proposals are due 14 July 2026.

An optional, pre-proposal webinar for all potential proposers will occur on 28 May 2026 at 1p Eastern (10a Pacific), and the Earth Science Division optional office hours via Teams will occur on 23-24 June at 1p Eastern (10a Pacific). See Section 12.7 of the FINESST pdf for connection information for all of these events.
