A large storm is expected to bring several days of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gale-force winds to England, Scotland, and Ireland.

This image shows the vast storm front approaching the United Kingdom on May 7, 2019. The image was acquired by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi NPP satellite.

Unusually cold temperatures, heavy precipitation, and flooding may occur in the United Kingdom and possibly as far south as Italy between May 8–11.
