Dust Storm Veils Sudan

Instruments:
Dust Storm Veils Sudan
April 16, 2017

Airborne dust lofted over an arid landscape, stretching from South Sudan into Eritrea. On April 16, 2017, the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) on the Suomi NPP satellite captured this image. Wind often reshapes the terrain here, as it did in February 2017.
