Messier 80: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image

Messier 80 (M80) is a globular star cluster located some 28,000 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius. Hubble’s ultraviolet observations of M80 helped astronomers identify the remains of a nova-producing white dwarf. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
