Caldwell 56: Amateur Image vs. Hubble Image
Caldwell 56 (C56) is a planetary nebula located some 1,600 light-years away in the constellation Cetus. Caldwell 56 is the remains of a dying star, visible as a white dwarf at the nebula's center. The left image was taken with an 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a 0.63x focal reducer and a DSLR Camera. The right image was taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
