Asteroid Vesta and Dwarf Planet Ceres
These Hubble Space Telescope images of Vesta and Ceres show two of the most massive asteroids in the asteroid belt, a region between Mars and Jupiter. The images were taken to help astronomers plan for the Dawn spacecraft's tour of these asteroids. Ceres is also designated as a dwarf planet. Dawn was the first spacecraft to visit a dwarf planet.
