To the left is a cluster of blue stars against a black background. Two bright orange stars are near the top of the image. A callout box at the edge of the cluster shows the location of the Hubble image (shown at the right), which features scattered stars including several large bright ones.

C96 (NGC 2516)

Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) captured the image in the upper right, showing stars in Caldwell 96 (NGC 2516), as well as a couple background galaxies (which appear as extended objects). In the lower left, a ground-based image from the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) includes an outline showing what part of the cluster was observed by Hubble.
