Felix C. Seidel
Atmospheric Composition Modeling and Analysis Program
Prior to joining NASA in 2017, Felix was a data scientist at JPL. He was leading the ‘Airborne Multi-angle Spectro Polarimetric Imager‘ (AirMSPI) activities and he was working in the ‘Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer‘ (MISR) satellite instrument team. He was involved in the development and validation of new aerosol and land data products, as well as in concept studies for proposed and planned future satellite instruments observing air and water quality. He developed snow property retrievals using imaging spectroscopy data for the JPL/NASA airborne snow observatory mission. Before joining JPL in 2011, Felix was Lead for the scientific Swiss National Point of Contact for satellite data.
Felix received his MS in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zürich, Switzerland in 2004. He received his Ph.D. in Natural Sciences at the University of Zurich in Switzerland in 2011. Felix has received three NASA group achievement awards, was a pilot, and a European Space Agency Astronaut applicant.
