Amendment 10: Changes to F.8 Supplemental Open-Source Software Awards

F.8 Supplemental Open Source Software Awards (SOSS) provides support for the conversion of legacy software into modern code to be released under a generally-accepted, open-source license (e.g., Apache-2, BSD-2-clause, GPL). The supplement adds a software component to an existing "parent" research and analysis award.

ROSES-2022 Amendment 10 makes two significant changes to F.8 SOSS: Division specific guidance for the development of open-source software has been added as Section 4 and the recommended amount for a single award has been increased from $20K/year to $50K/year. New Text is in bold and deleted text is struck through. Proposals may be submitted at any time.

On or about March 23, 2022, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2022" (NNH22ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2022.

Questions concerning F.8 SOSS may be directed to Steven Crawford at steven.m.crawford@nasa.gov.
