Amendment 27: C.26 Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis for Community Comment

When it is released as final text, the goal of C.26 The Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis (ANGSA) Program will be to maximize the science derived from samples returned by the Apollo Program in preparation for future lunar missions anticipated in the 2020s and beyond. To achieve this, the 2nd ANGSA call will focus on small, high-value samples that are nearing their pristinity limit.

ROSES-2022 Amendment 27 releases the DRAFT text for this program element, to be included in ROSES-2022. At this time, we are requesting community feedback regarding the list of pre-selected samples in Section 1.1. The goal is to include samples that are nearing their pristinity limit and would be of high scientific potential for a consortia study. Comments on the samples listed in this DRAFT, including requests for potential additional samples, must be submitted by July 29, 2022, to HQ-ANGSA@mail.nasa.gov. Those who submit comments may not receive individual responses. However, on release of the final text, NASA will enumerate significant changes made to the sample list between the draft and final solicitation, either through a FAQ or changes document.

On or about June 28, 2022, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2022" (NNH22ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2022

Questions and comments concerning the DRAFT of C.26 ANGSA may be directed to HQ-ANGSA@mail.nasa.gov.
