Amendment 38: D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers Updates and Due Dates Delayed
D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers solicits proposals for Astrophysics space and sub-orbital science investigations that are greater in cost, scope, and capability than possible within the Astrophysics Research and Analysis suborbital and CubeSat program but are smaller in cost than what is possible within the Astrophysics Explorers Mission of Opportunity (MO) program (e.g., PEA Q of SALMON-3 for the 2021 opportunity). Investigations are solicited using platforms that include CubeSats (including constellations), other SmallSats, and major balloon missions. Technology development and maturation within the proposed project is allowed, but the primary review criterion for selection is the merit of the proposed science investigation
ROSES-2025 Amendment 38 delays the due dates for this program and makes three small changes to Section 5.3. Mandatory Notices of intent are now due February 11, 2026, and proposals are now due April 2, 2026. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through.
On or about January 14, 2026, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2025" (NNH25ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2025
Programmatic questions concerning D.5 Astrophysics Pioneers may be directed to Pablo Saz Parkinson at pablo.sazparkinson@nasa.gov.
