On March 29, 2021, My NASA Data's Angie Rizzi and Elizabeth Joyner presented a new type of educational resource, Scientifically-Interesting Stories. Twenty-six educators from around the world joined the session hosted by Kennedy Space Center's NASA STEM Educator Professional Development Collaborative. This resource supports learners in analyzing, interpreting, and sense-making of chlorophyll and solar radiation data related to phytoplankton distribution. It features a presentation with teacher notes, three GIS interactive models, videos created by subject matter experts, and a data visualization tool (Earth System Data Explorer) with NASA data preloaded.
