February 6, 2002

There appeared to be some large fires burning in the Southern Andes Mountains on Feb. 6, 2002, filling the skies over the region with considerable smoke and haze. The Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS), flying aboard the OrbView-2 satellite, acquired this true-color scene on Feb. 6.
