Fires Near Lake Baikal, Russia

On April 26, 2002, dozens of fires (red dots) were burning around Lake Baikal at the southern end of Russia’s Central Siberian Plateau. This image was acquired by NASA’s Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Terra satellite.
