Astrophysics Biennial Technology Report 2024 Released

7 October 2024

Every two years, NASA solicits input from the astrophysics community regarding the technology challenges and priorities that require development to address Astro2020 priorities. The Astrophysics Biennial Technology Report (ABTR) is a biennial report that covers technology advancements and technology gaps motivated by the science drivers, priorities, and missions in NASA Astrophysics.

The recently released 2024 ABTR [PDF] addresses the priorities presented in the National Academies’ Decadal Survey in Astrophysics, "Pathways in Astronomy and Astrophysics for the 2020s" (Astro2020), and reflects the consolidated input of our science community.

The 2024 ABTR, as well as ABTRs from previous years, and other technology reports, can be found on the Astrophysics Projects Division Technology webpage.
