The Old fire burns in the Devore Heights area of San Bernardino County in Southern California, close to the intersection of Interstates 15 and 215. Devore Heights is just north of the Lytle Creek area and is 12 miles west of Lake Arrowhead. Taken in the near-infrared light spectrum, this false-color Ikonos image depicts green or living vegetation as bright red areas. The blackened or charred areas in the middle of the image show where the fire has already burned. Large flames can be seen north of I-15 on the left side of the image. This image was taken on October 28, 2003.
