At the foothills of the Himalayas, east of the Indus River, numerous agricultural fires continue to burn in northwest India. This image of the fires (red dots) was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aqua satellite on October 29, 2002.
