This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) from August 27, 2002, shows the Biscuit and Tiller Complex Fires in Oregon. The Biscuit Fire (south) has a large, purplish-brown burn scar that gives evidence of the immensity of the fire.
