Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer

(MODIS) on NASA’s

Aqua

satellite captured this image of the

Royal Gorge,

Big Meadows,

and

Black Forest

fires burning in Colorado. Red outlines indicate hot spots where MODIS detected unusually warm surface temperatures associated with fires.
