Space Weather Living History with Dr. Michael Hesse

This audio resource features a conversation with Dr. Michael Hesse from the Space Weather Living History project, which preserves important perspectives from key figures in heliophysics.

Dr. Michael Hesse discusses his time as the Director of the Heliophysics Science Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Prior to that role, he was the Chief of GSFC’s Space Weather Laboratory, a research scientist appointment in the Electrodynamics Branch, and a postdoctoral fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He received his doctoral degree in Theoretical Physics at the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum, Germany, and was the founding Director of the Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC). He was also Lead Co-Investigator for Theory and Modeling for NASA’s Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) mission.
