Amendment 56: A.24 Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics NURTURE Campaign Schedule Change

A.24 Weather and Atmospheric Dynamics (WEATHER) solicits proposals for participation in the North American Upstream Feature-Resolving and Tropopause Uncertainty Reconnaissance Experiment (NURTURE). Those selected will form a core science team to execute the next programmatic field campaign targeted for January and February 2026.

ROSES-2024 Amendment 56 announces changes to A.24 WEATHER: The NURTURE campaign will move to January and February 2027 due to a delay in the completion of the work on the NASA 777 that makes it a suitable platform for airborne campaigns. The budget schedule in Section 5 still holds, as the campaign will be executed in the second year of the funded efforts. Contingencies are being considered for a potential supplemental effort in January 2026, but those are still unconfirmed.  It is expected that any additional support needed for January 2026 will be negotiated during the awarding process after selection. Also, the number of anticipated funded efforts in Section 5 has been modified. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through. The due dates are unchanged: NOIs are requested by October 2, 2024, and proposals are due November 8, 2024.

On or about September 27, 2024, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2024" (NNH24ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2024
