Too much exposure can be a bad thing over time so sunblock is important. Astronomers also use ‘sunblock’ filters to study the Sun. These filters are designed to only let certain wavelengths of light into the camera. This lets us take pictures of the Sun’s faint details and not get blinded by all the other unwanted light.
