Taking Hubble’s Universe to 3-D
This movie shows how the science visualization team at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, Md., transforms Hubble Space Telescope 2-D photographs into 3-D environments, which give viewers the impression that they are space travelers taking a tour of Hubble's most popular targets. These 3-D astronomy visualizations are part of the new Imax film "Hubble 3D." The 43-minute Imax 3-D movie chronicles the 20-year life of the Hubble telescope and includes highlights from the May 2009 servicing mission, with footage taken by the astronauts.
