The Sense of Place Series: Indigenous Perspectives on Earth and Sky is a speaker series featuring indigenous knowledge holders sharing their expertise on Earth and space sciences. In this 1 hour and 32 minute video Dr. Gregory Cajete, PhD discusses his role in pioneering the reconciliation of Indigenous perspectives in science with a western academic setting. Dr, Cajete is a Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Native American Studies program at the University of New Mexico. He is a renowned author and artist from Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. His focus is on teaching culturally based science, with its emphasis on health and wellness. This talk was presented on September 10, 2020.
