Amendment 42: A.30 Understanding Changes in High Mountain Asia Deferred to ROSES-25

When it is solicited, A.30 Understanding Changes in High Mountain Asia (HMA) solicits investigations into HMA's glaciers, snow, permafrost, and precipitation to improve our understanding of regional changes, water resources, and induced impacts, while furthering NASA’s strategic goals in Earth system science and societal applications. Through expanded knowledge of the processes controlling change in HMA, the program intends to improve regional projections and address vulnerabilities in human and biogeophysical systems.

Understanding and projecting change in HMA requires the coordinated efforts of a diverse group of scientists. This program element encourages integrative, interdisciplinary proposals from groups of scientists. Also, proposers are recommended to consider using NASA's new and emerging Earth orbiting satellites and sensors, such as SWOT (https://swot.jpl.nasa.gov) and NISAR (https://nisar.jpl.nasa.gov).

ROSES-2024 Amendment 42 announces that A.30 HMA is no longer solicited in ROSES-2024.We anticipate that it will be solicited in ROSES-2025.

On or about August 13, 2024, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement "Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2024" (NNH24ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at https://solicitation.nasaprs.com/ROSES2024 and will appear on SARA's ROSES blog at: https://science.nasa.gov/researchers/solicitations/roses-2024/

Questions concerning A.30 HMA may be directed to Jared Entin at jared.k.entin@nasa.gov.
